Our beloved Bayview Cash Store—over 100 years old—needs a new paint job! This special building lays out a perpetual welcome mat, serving as a landmark location and backdrop for Goosefoot Community Fund’s art shows, annual holiday Giving Tree, summer street dances, community meetings, and other events. Plus, it’s home to vibrant restaurants and businesses as well as nonprofits working on affordable housing and environmental stewardship.

We are thrilled to announce a matching grant of $30,000 to help us reach the $70,000+ estimate for painting the Cash Store exterior in 2026. The rents and common area maintenance paid by our tenants don’t cover the capital improvements this historic building requires. Instead, we are looking to those in our community who appreciate the role the Cash Store plays in the historic and social fabric of South Whidbey.

Last year, in response to our appeal to help with deferred maintenance at the Cash Store, many of you gave generously. Your dollars went to a number of worthy projects, including these highlights:

Now we need to protect the exterior of the Cash Store by fully repainting it. Remember: Your gift will be doubled if made by December 31st, and donations of any size are truly welcome! Let’s show this grand old building the same care it’s shown our community all these years. Together, we can make it shine again!
