Round Up Application

The Goose Community Grocer provides opportunities for Whidbey community organizations to raise funds through donations made at the cash register, by "rounding up" the total purchase amount with a gift to the designated charity of the month.

The selection is made on a rolling basis according to Goosefoot’s annual priorities and emergent community needs. The contributions, however, are considered for tax deduction purposes as a direct contribution from customer to applicant.

As of October 2022, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and participants will be selected on a semi-annual basis in December and June. Selected organizations are encouraged to promote their Round Up month and will have a designated amount of space at the store to advertise their participation.

Applications will be kept on file, but applicants are encouraged to re-apply with information updates if appropriate.

Nonsecular organizations, arts organizations and private schools are ineligible for selection.

Applicant organizations must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and its mission must address at least one of these criteria:

  • Growing Local Businesses
  • Addressing People’s Basic Needs
  • Preserving Great Places
  • Demonstrating justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in leadership and activities.
