Position Overview:
About Goosefoot
Goosefoot Community Fund was founded in 1999 to bring Bayview area neighbors together to nurture a sense of place and community, preserve the rural landscape, and enhance local commerce. Over the past two and a half decades it has grown into a complex enterprise.
Goosefoot believes in the power of our community gathering together to celebrate, learn, and address problems. Inclusion–regardless of someone’s race, ethnicity, religion, economic status, gender identity, sexual orientation or political beliefs—has been a core value of ours since our founding in 1999.
Goosefoot currently helps strengthen our island community through: 1) supporting essential needs, including developing affordable, multi-family workforce housing; 2) providing small business education and incubation support; 3) bolstering networking, services and advocacy in support of healthy food systems and local food production and distribution; and 4) preserving architectural and cultural assets including community-based educational events, art shows, and celebrations.
Across four subsidiary entities, Goosefoot conducts commercial property management, operates a community grocer, and nurtures workforce housing initiatives. Collectively there is over $18 million in assets under management.
